Pharmaceutical plant and Hospital Operations

The 20-ward hospital in Kinshasa will serve as the central hub for PmedEx’s healthcare services. It will operate 24/7, offering specialized medical care across various departments, such as general medicine, surgery, oncology, cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, and gynecology.

Patient Admission and Triage

PmedEx will implement an admission system where patients are admitted through emergency services, referrals, or scheduled appointments. A triage system will be employed to prioritize emergency cases and ensure efficient patient routing to the appropriate departments.

Screening Test Services

PmedEx will offer onsite screening services for diabetes, cancer, blood pressure, lung conditions, and cardiology. These services will be integral to early detection and prevention of serious health conditions, especially for high-risk patients. Screening will be available as part of the hospital's regular services, helping to catch non-communicable diseases in their early stages for better treatment outcomes.

Departmental Workflow

Each department will be staffed with dedicated medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, and specialists, alongside administrative and support teams. Standardized care protocols will be followed across all departments to ensure consistent and high-quality treatment for all patients.

Medical Device Integration

The hospital will be equipped with state-of-the-art medical devices and diagnostic tools, allowing for quick and accurate diagnoses. PmedEx will have a dedicated team to handle the regular maintenance and calibration of these devices, ensuring their continued functionality and reliability.

Mobile Unit Workflow

Each mobile unit will be staffed by a rotating team of doctors, nurses, and healthcare support personnel. The mobile units will focus on early detection and treatment of common conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and minor injuries. These units will also have screening test services available. Patients requiring advanced care will be referred to the central hospital in Kinshasa or the nearest healthcare facility.

Inpatient and Outpatient Services

Inpatient wards will provide comprehensive care for patients requiring long-term treatment, while outpatient services will focus on Mobile Hospital Units PmedEx will deploy two mobile hospital units to extend its services to rural and underserved areas. These units will operate on a rotational schedule, covering remote regions and offering basic diagnostic and treatment services.

Community Engagement

PmedEx will collaborate with local community health workers to promote and organize mobile hospital visits. Public health education initiatives will be conducted during these visits to raise awareness about preventive healthcare and disease management.

Ambulance and Emergency Services

PmedEx will provide emergency medical transportation, as well as private ambulance, hire for non-emergency patient transport. Each ambulance will be fully equipped with modern medical equipment and staffed by trained paramedics.

Emergency Services Workflow

PmedEx will operate a 24/7 call center that will manage ambulance dispatches and coordinate rapid response to emergencies. Ambulances will be strategically stationed across Kinshasa to ensure fast response times to critical emergencies.

Private Ambulance Hire

In addition to emergency services, PmedEx will offer private ambulance services for patients requiring regular medical visits or hospital transfers

Medical Device Supply Chain

PmedEx will act as a supplier of advanced medical devices, both for its facilities and for healthcare providers across the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Procurement Process

PmedEx will source its medical devices from leading global manufacturers, facilitated through partnerships with international suppliers. A procurement team will oversee the purchasing process, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective acquisitions.

Inventory Management

An automated inventory management system will be employed to monitor stock levels, ensuring that devices and consumable supplies are available when needed. Regular audits and tracking will help reduce waste and maintain operational efficiency.

Distribution

PmedEx will collaborate with logistics partners to distribute medical devices to healthcare providers in Kinshasa and other regions of the DRC. After-sales support, including training for healthcare staff on device usage, will be offered to ensure proper utilization.
